Congress Votes Friday to Stop a New Iraq War!

Last Updated on March 11, 2019.

This Friday, the House of Representatives will vote on legislation to prevent us from getting sucked back into another war in Iraq. Introduced by champions of peace Jim McGovern (D-MA), Walter Jones (R-NC), and Barbara Lee (D-CA), H. Con. Res. 105 would make clear that there is no Congressional authorization for another Iraq War.
Tell your Representative: Vote for H. Con. Res. 105 because the Iraq war was a mistake we cannot afford to repeat!

Two weeks ago, you answered our call and asked your Representative to cosponsor this important resolution. With Congress voting tomorrow, we need you to take the next step and call your Representative today! The situation in Iraq is difficult, but the solution is not American bombs or troops. Congress needs to hear that their constituents don’t want to send our troops back into the middle of a civil war.

Representatives are deciding whether to vote for the Iraq War Powers Resolution today, and so it’s imperative that you call NOW!

Call by using this special toll-free* number: 1-855-68 NO WAR (1-855-686-6927)This number will connect you with the Capitol Switchboard operator, and you should ask to be connected to your Representative’s office. Introduce yourself as a constituent, and then explain that you urge them to vote YES on H. Con. Res. 105.

Sample Script:
