Donald Trump Hates America

Donald Trump is about to sign an Executive Order slamming shut America’s doors to those most in need and ending America’s commitment to religious freedom. These new orders — banning Muslims and halting all refugee resettlement — take the first step in the Trump Administration’s agenda to criminalize faith, nationality, and people of color. This agenda flies in the face of the American values that have defined us for more than two centuries.

While we can’t stop him from signing these orders, it’s up to us to stand up for the American values we believe in: support our muslim brothers and sisters, and demand our allies in Congress take every step they can to block these dangerous actions. If enough of us raise our voice, we can show the world that Donald Trump doesn’t speak for us and help jumpstart the resistance necessary to protect religious freedom and America’s historic tradition as a safe harbor for those in need.

That’s why we’re partnering with the amazing folks at MPower Change and others to demand Congress reject Donald Trump’s Muslim ban. Click here to join us!

These orders are the first in what appears to be a series of discriminatory and dangerous policies being launched by the Trump Administration. And we have to start fighting back now.

Our Constitution could not be more clear: there is no place in America for religious discrimination. Our Founders knew the simple truth that a nation whose laws applied differently to people based simply on the god they prayed to was not a nation that was free. And for centuries, building on that tradition, leaders of every political stripe have kept our nation open to those in search of safety, fleeing persecution and violence.

We cannot let Donald Trump erase that history with the swipe of his pen.

Click here to add your voice to the call for Members of Congress to reject hate and stand up for the American values we hold dear.

This is a moment for Americans to stand together as one and stand up for the values that define us. After years of working for a more peaceful American foreign policy, we know exactly where these kind of bigoted policies lead — hatred and violence at home and abroad. America’s security has only ever been weakened by dividing our country and by turning our backs on those in need.

Now it’s time to reaffirm our commitment to an America whose strength is rooted in our diversity and grounded in our values. Join us in demanding Congress resist Donald Trump’s ban on Muslim visitors and shutdown of refugees.
