Trump Begins Second Term Outlining Violent Vision and Signing Dangerous Executive Orders

Last Updated on January 21, 2025.
Washington – Win Without War Executive Director, Sara Haghdoosti, released the following statement in response to President Trump’s day-one executive actions:
“Ringed by billionaires looking for a handout, in the same Capitol against which he spurred an insurrection just four years ago, President Trump outlined a violent agenda for his second term that promises to enrich his sycophants at the expense of our collective security, health, and climate.
“Most alarming has been the rollout of executive orders that will militarize U.S. society, terrorize the vulnerable, and destabilize relations with our neighbors. Trump deploying troops inside U.S. territory and invoking the Alien Enemies Act will serve as the pretext of a mass deportation campaign that could act as a racist dragnet, separating children from their parents, bringing us back to the era of domestic internment camps, and threatening all of our communities. Designating Mexico’s cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations threatens drug users, innocent Mexican civilians, and border communities while doing nothing to end the opioid crisis.
“These executive actions seek to test the bounds of just how much cruelty and corruption people in the United States are willing to accept. We’re confident that our country will again reject this agenda.”
