Trump’s War Against Iran Is a Disaster We Can Stop

Last Updated on March 4, 2026.

WashingtonIn response to alarming reports that the Trump administration is considering strikes on Iran, Win Without War released the following statement:

“We strongly oppose the Trump administration’s escalatory military build-up in the Middle East, an apparent prelude to a devastating and open-ended war against Iran that will unnecessarily endanger thousands of lives across the region, including U.S. servicemembers.

“This is not about Iran’s nuclear program, which Trump promised was destroyed last summer. Nor is it about promoting democracy. Instead, like so many of his criminal and unconstitutional acts, strikes on Iran would be another reminder of the President’s perception of himself as a would-be king and an attempt to distract from his plummeting approval ratings.

“The Trump administration has made deprivation and violence at home and abroad its top priority, taking billions of dollars that could pay for desperately needed healthcare, education, and food at home and spending it instead on military operations that will do nothing to make people anywhere any safer.

“Congress’ blank check for the president’s warmongering has brought us to this point. We cannot accept further inaction or another failed attempt to rein Trump in. It’s time for both the House and Senate to pass a War Powers Resolution and stop this war before it starts.”
