WashingtonWin Without War expands military know-your-rights awareness campaign to National Guard members deployed to Chicago.

Following the unprecedented deployment of the Texas National Guard into Chicago without the approval of the Governor of Illinois, Win Without War has activated digital billboards around Chicago advertising NotWhatYouSignedUpFor.org, a website that connects members of the military with resources on responding to unlawful orders and understanding their rights while in uniform.

The billboards are located on highways connecting Chicago and the bases housing Texas National Guard troops and Illinois National Guard military police units, as well as around Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

While a recent federal restraining order temporarily prevents these troops from deploying outside their bases, President Trump has not given up on forcing the military into the streets to support ICE’s ruthless assault on Chicago.

With the Trump administration putting our military service members at elevated legal, moral, and even physical risk with reckless and unnecessary domestic deployments, it’s more important than ever that troops understand their rights and options for serving honorably.

This campaign began last month with static and mobile billboards in Ft. Bragg, NC, Camp Lejeune, NC, and Washington, DC.

On NotWhatYouSignedUpFor.org, we are proud to continue to highlight the work of principled organizations experienced in counseling service members, including About Face, the GI Rights Hotline, and the National Lawyers Guild Military Law Task Force.

We want our troops to know someone has their back—because the Trump administration doesn’t.
