Win Without War Expands “Not What You Signed Up For” Campaign to Memphis

Washington – Win Without War expands military know-your-rights awareness campaign to National Guard members deployed to Memphis.
Following the deployment of the Tennessee National Guard into Memphis in violation of state law and against the wishes of local officials, Win Without War has posted a billboard in downtown Memphis advertising NotWhatYouSignedUpFor.org, a website that connects members of the military with resources on responding to unlawful orders and understanding their rights while in uniform.
The billboard is located on Memphis’ Beale St., a downtown entertainment and tourist destination where National Guard troops have recently patrolled in a show of force.
With the Trump administration putting our military service members at elevated legal, moral, and even physical risk with reckless and unnecessary domestic deployments, it’s more important than ever that troops understand their rights and options for serving honorably.
This campaign began last month in Washington, DC and has now expanded to Ft. Bragg, Camp Lejeune, and Chicago.
On NotWhatYouSignedUpFor.org, we are proud to continue to highlight the work of principled organizations experienced in counseling service members, including About Face, the GI Rights Hotline, and the National Lawyers Guild Military Law Task Force.
We want our troops to know someone has their back—because the Trump administration doesn’t.
