WashingtonWin Without War launches awareness campaign for military service members at risk of facing unlawful orders.

Today, Win Without War launched NotWhatYouSignedUpFor.org, a website built to connect active duty, national guard, and reserve members of the military with key resources on responding to unlawful orders, seeking discharge from the military, and understanding their rights while in uniform. National Guard troops deployed in Washington, DC will see advertising for the site starting today.

We want our troops to know someone has their back—because this administration doesn’t. With President Trump threatening  “war” on the city of Chicago and already deploying armed military units into the streets of Los Angeles and D.C., our troops risk being forced into situations that are not legal, that they aren’t trained for, or that violate their conscience. This is not what they signed up for.

Because the Trump administration is putting our military service members at elevated legal, moral, and even physical risk, it’s more important than ever that our troops understand their rights and options for serving honorably.

We are proud to highlight the work of principled organizations experienced in counseling service members, including About Face, the GI Rights Hotline, and the National Lawyers Guild Military Law Task Force.

Donald Trump is making it harder than ever for service members to uphold their oaths to the constitution. We hope that access to know-your-rights resources will help ease their burden.
