WashingtonWin Without War Executive Director Sara Haghdoosti released the following statement responding to the Washington Post’s report on an investigation into whether Donald Trump may have accepted a $10 million bribe from Egyptian dictator Abd el-Fattah el-Sisi:

“A shocking Washington Post report today describes a multi-year FBI investigation that found $10 million in cash leaving an state-run Egyptian bank around the same time that Donald Trump suddenly loaned his campaign $10 million. This leaves us with 10 million unanswered questions about possible corruption. But shockingly, we don’t have the answers because the investigation was then quashed by Donald Trump’s own political appointees.

“We were unequivocal that soon-to-be-former Senator Menendez should resign after he was indicted and later convicted for taking bribes from the Egyptian government, and we similarly demand a full and thorough investigation of these allegations into Donald Trump by the Department of Justice and Congress. Anything less would be dangerously hypocritical and send a damning signal that our foreign policy is for sale.”
