Mass Starvation in Gaza Must End Now
Last Updated on January 29, 2024.
Washington – Win Without War Executive Director Sara Haghdoosti released the following statement in response to the conditions of mass starvation across the Gaza Strip:
“We’ve seen heartbreaking reports on the conditions of mass starvation across the Gaza Strip, and most recently, evidence that the Israeli government has been weaponizing such starvation as a method of warfare. We emphatically condemn this form of collective punishment and demand the Biden administration call for an immediate ceasefire and ensure Gaza’s innocent families and children gain immediate access to life-saving aid.
“In the words of Hind Khoudary, a Palestinian journalist based in Gaza, ‘If death doesn’t come from airstrikes, it will come from starvation.’
“The attacks on October 7th were horrific and what we’re seeing now isn’t justice. We urge the Biden Administration to do all it can to secure an immediate ceasefire to reunite hostages held by Hamas with their families, and ensure that people in Gaza can have a respite from violence and critical access to aid.”
